Prompt: Think of a fictional character, celebrity, or historical figure you can relate to. Create an allusion that connects your personality or experiences to that person. Explain why you chose that reference.

Prompt Response: A fictional character that I can relate to is Scooby-doo. Scooby and I are both curious about the world and like to solve mysteries. Like Scooby, I often find myself in troubling situations but tend to see the bright side of them and be optimistic. Additionally, we both have friends that we can count on, so when I say "Ruh Roh," I know I'll have someone to help me. I chose to reference Scooby through his catchphrase "Ruh Roh" because that's what he says when he's in trouble, and it's well known. Most people will know that when Scooby says "Ruh Roh," he is asking Shaggy, his friend, to help him out of a sticky situation.

Summary: Today in class, we learned about rhetorical analysis and connotation and denotation.

Reflection: Words will have different connotations depending on the audience.
