On today’s rhetorical devices test, was it easier to recognize devices from their definitions or identify them in quotations? Explain why, and discuss a device that challenged you, if any. What did this experience reveal about how well your study habits prepared you?

Prompt: On today’s rhetorical devices test, was it easier to recognize devices from their definitions or identify them in quotations? Explain why, and discuss a device that challenged you, if any. What did this experience reveal about how well your study habits prepared you?

Prompt: I think it might be easier for me to recognize devices from their definitions than to identify them from quotations because I remember the definitions since I wrote them down in my notebook. Identifying them would require more knowledge of how they're used. A device that might challenge me is antithesis because I find it the hardest to come up with examples of. This reveals that my study habits help me remember definitions, but maybe not actual uses.

Summary: In class today, we took the rhetorical devices test.

Reflection: It's weird that I'm writing the blog post before taking the test.
